Mitambo & Co has supported governments, research institutions, development partners, global health organisations and regional initiatives on assignments spanning research, policy, regulation, health systems, data, programme implementation and institutional strengthening.
Selected Engagements
Our role differs from assignment to assignment. Sometimes we generate the evidence. Sometimes we help translate evidence into policy. In other engagements, we strengthen regulatory systems, design implementation frameworks or provide technical leadership through delivery.

National Commission for Science and Technology / Ministry of Health
Mitambo & Co provided lead consulting support for the development and review of a comprehensive suite of national health research policy and strategic documents.
The assignment covered the National Health Research Policy, National Health Research Agenda II 2023–2030, Health Research Strategic Plan 2021–2030, Implementation Research Guidelines for Malawi, Health Research Fund Guidelines and other national research governance frameworks. The work combined policy development, strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, research governance, implementation research and health-research financing.

Regional engagement
TRACE Project — Garnet Partners, Rwanda
Mitambo & Co provided technical and strategic support to the TRACE Project across Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Nigeria, Kenya and Rwanda.
The work covered clinical-trial regulation, research ethics, regulatory and ethics harmonisation, benchmarking, digitalisation, stakeholder engagement and capacity strengthening. Contributions included country-level strengthening plans, systems assessments, implementation of the WHO Ethics Benchmarking Tool and support for National Ethics Committees, Institutional Review Boards and National Regulatory Authorities.
